KARBONITRASYON
The nitrocarburizing process is a thermochemical process that simultaneously introduces carbon and nitrogen to the steel part surface. The process is carried out in gas or salt bath environments.
It is similar to carburizing but since it is applied at lower temperatures (700-850°C), the risk of distortion and dimensional change in the parts is extremely low.
Thanks to the nitrogen atoms stabilizing the structure, high surface hardness can be obtained even with lower carbon ratios. It is ideal especially for thin-walled parts, small gears and mass production components.
